Prof. Dr. Kent Doi is a professor at the University of Tokyo Hospital and the Chairman of its Department of Emergency and Critical Care Medicine. His research work in nephrology took place at Japan’s National Institutes of Health / the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIH/NIDDK) from 2005 to 2007. Prof. Dr. Doi held positions of Assistant Professor, Lecturer, and Associate Professor at the University of Tokyo Hospital between 2008 and 2021.
Currently, at the University of Tokyo, Prof. Dr. Doi is a clinical and basic research investigator with interests spanning sepsis, multiple organ failure, acute kidney injury, and blood purification. He is a Fellow of the Japanese Society of Internal Medicine (FJSIM) and a Councilor and Board-Certified Nephrologist of both the Japanese Society of Nephrology (JSN) and the Japanese Society of Intensive Care Medicine (JSICM). Known for his unwavering focus on patient well-being, Prof. Dr. Doi maintains an extensive international network of clinical specialists.
