Purpose-Led publishing expands access to APS Global Physics Summit with virtual events -

AIP Publishing, the American Physical Society (APS), and IOP Publishing, members of the Purpose-Led Publishing (PLP) coalition, are enhancing access to the 2025 APS Global Physics Summit by launching a series of inclusive, virtual satellite sites. These sites will extend the summit’s reach beyond its main event in Anaheim, California, in March 2025, enabling scientists worldwide to participate in real-time discussions and collaborative sessions.

The PLP coalition’s initiative is designed to break down barriers to scientific exchange, allowing researchers from diverse geographic regions to engage with leading advancements in physics. Alongside summit participation, these virtual hubs will host specialized workshops and presentations on best practices in scientific publishing, reinforcing the coalition’s mission to support research integrity and accessibility.

In line with PLP's purpose-driven approach, 100% of coalition funds are reinvested into the research ecosystem to benefit the broader scientific community. The virtual expansion of the APS Global Physics Summit demonstrates this commitment to inclusivity in the dissemination of scientific knowledge.

Details on specific locations and schedules for the satellite events will be announced in the coming months, as PLP aims to make the summit accessible and impactful for a global audience.
