Mary Ann Liebert, Inc., a leading publisher of peer-reviewed academic journals, has entered into a three-year read-and-publish agreement with Vanderbilt University’s Jean and Alexander Heard Libraries. The agreement, effective January 1, 2025, marks the publisher’s first open access partnership with a North American institution.
This pioneering agreement enables Vanderbilt-affiliated authors to publish their research in any Mary Ann Liebert, Inc. journal without incurring article processing charges (APCs). The initiative aims to enhance the discoverability, readership, and citations of Vanderbilt researchers’ work, aligning with the global movement toward open science.
The agreement encompasses all publications by Mary Ann Liebert, Inc., including 15 journals ranked in the top 10% of their fields by Scopus CiteScore. Notable titles include Diabetes Technology & Therapeutics, the leading journal for Medical Laboratory Technology, and Advances in Wound Care, ranked second in Emergency Medicine. Additionally, 18 journals, including Autism in Adulthood, are ranked in the first quartile of the 2024 Journal Citation Reports.
Vanderbilt researchers will benefit from barrier-free publishing opportunities in over 100 academic journals, promoting broader dissemination of their findings and fostering collaboration across disciplines. Articles submitted starting January 1, 2025, will qualify under this transformative agreement.
