SSP launches global compensation and benefits benchmarking study for scholarly communications -

The Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP) has announced the launch of its Global Compensation and Benefits Benchmarking Study, aimed at gathering extensive data on wages, benefits, policies, and skills within the scholarly communications sector. The results will be available on SSP’s new Insights Platform and are designed to guide both professionals and organizations in strategic decision-making.

The study features two surveys: one for individuals and another for organizations. Data collection is open until March 31, 2025, with reports beginning in February 2025. Participants who submit their surveys by December 31, 2024, and complete at least 60% of the questions, will receive a free executive summary of the aggregate findings.

Benefits for Participants:

• Individuals: Gain insights to benchmark compensation and benefits, aiding in career planning and salary negotiations.

• Organizations: Access data to make evidence-based decisions on salary adjustments, benefits, and workforce planning.

Subscription Options:

• Premium Access: Offers dynamic reports with filters for job level, region, and experience.

• Enterprise Access: Adds organization-specific insights, including revenue and employee count filters.

• Industry Access: Focuses on broader organizational trends with real-time updates.

Confidentiality remains a top priority, with all data anonymized and aggregated to ensure privacy. SSP controls the study’s production and distribution, safeguarding its integrity.

This initiative aims to foster equity and competitiveness within the industry by providing actionable, data-driven insights. Participants are encouraged to contribute their data to help shape fair compensation standards.
