Dr. Justin B. Moore appointed Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice -

The Journal of Public Health Management and Practice (JPHMP) has announced Dr. Justin B. Moore as its new Editor-in-Chief, effective January 1, 2025. Dr. Moore succeeds Dr. Lloyd F. Novick, who has held the position since the journal’s founding in 1995.

Dr. Moore, a distinguished public health scientist and educator, is a Professor and Vice Chair in the Department of Implementation Science at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He also serves as Director of Dissemination, Implementation, & Continuous Quality Improvement at the university's Clinical and Translational Science Institute.

Dr. Moore’s research focuses on community-engaged strategies to promote healthy behaviors in underserved populations, tackling chronic diseases such as hypertension, obesity, and diabetes through interventions like physical activity and healthy eating. With a career spanning over 200 peer-reviewed articles and extensive funding from prestigious organizations, including the NIH and CDC, Dr. Moore is recognized as a leader in advancing public health through evidence-based research and implementation.

Dr. Moore has been associated with JPHMP since 2007 as an Associate Editor. His editorial experience includes roles as Associate Editor-in-Chief for the Translational Journal of the American College of Sports Medicine and editorial board memberships for prominent journals such as Childhood Obesity and the International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity.

Dr. Lloyd F. Novick, the founding Editor-in-Chief, leaves a transformative legacy. Under his leadership, JPHMP became a cornerstone publication for public health practitioners, researchers, and policymakers, driving progress in practice and policy through rigorous, actionable research.

Dr. Moore’s appointment signals a commitment to continuing JPHMP’s tradition of excellence while charting new paths in public health publishing. As Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Moore will focus on maintaining the journal’s high standards, fostering innovation, and supporting the dissemination of impactful research to address pressing public health challenges.
