Canadian Journal of Physics names Dr. Zahra Yamani as Co-Editor-in-Chief -

The Canadian Journal of Physics (CJP) and its publisher, Canadian Science Publishing, have announced the appointment of Dr. Zahra Yamani as the new Co-Editor-in-Chief. She will work alongside Dr. Marco Merkli, the continuing Co-Editor-in-Chief. This change follows nearly 25 years of dedicated service by Dr. Robert Mann, who has transitioned to the role of Executive Editor-in-Chief at Canadian Science Publishing.

Currently a Senior Research Scientist at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, Dr. Yamani brings extensive expertise in quantum technology, particularly in quantum materials and quantum sensing. Her research focuses on advanced experimental techniques such as neutron scattering, nuclear quadrupole resonance, and nuclear magnetic resonance. Dr. Yamani has contributed significantly to interdisciplinary projects bridging fundamental physics with applied research, especially in the development of shielding materials for space and nuclear applications, as well as novel detector technologies.

A dedicated member of the Canadian Association of Physicists, Dr. Yamani also serves on its Science Policy Committee and is involved with the Canadian Institute for Neutron Scattering. Furthermore, she represents Canada as a Member-at-Large for the Neutron Scattering Society of America.
