MDPI renews partnership with CSAL to support Swiss Universities -

MDPI has announced the renewal of its partnership with CSAL (Swiss Consortium of Academic Libraries) for 2025, reaffirming its commitment to advancing open access publishing in Switzerland. This renewed agreement will benefit leading Swiss universities, including ETH Zurich and EPFL Lausanne, alongside twenty other prominent institutions.

Through this partnership, CSAL-affiliated institutions will continue to have access to MDPI’s Institutional Open Access Program (IOAP), offering substantial discounts on article processing charges (APCs). This initiative makes it more affordable for researchers to publish under open access, ensuring that their work remains widely accessible to the global academic community.

For institutions that centrally fund APCs, the agreement provides even greater financial relief, with enhanced discounts to support researchers and simplify the publication process. MDPI also offers flexible payment options, allowing institutions to tailor the agreement to their specific financial structures.

By reducing administrative burdens and promoting transparency, MDPI aims to facilitate a seamless publishing experience, allowing institutions to focus on advancing research. This partnership reflects MDPI's ongoing dedication to promoting the benefits of gold open access publishing both within Switzerland and globally, empowering researchers and expanding the reach of academic discoveries.
