bioRxiv and medRxiv, the leading preprint platforms for life sciences and medical research, will now operate under the openRxiv governance model, ensuring long-term sustainability through a community-driven nonprofit framework.
Since their founding in 2013 (bioRxiv) and 2019 (medRxiv), the platforms have transformed biomedical research dissemination, allowing scientists worldwide to share findings quickly, fairly, and free of charge.
openRxiv will oversee the platforms’ future operations, maintaining their mission of advancing open-access scientific communication. CSHL will continue to support their success through its advisory role.
