Milner Library, the academic library of Illinois State University (ISU), has expanded its open-access publishing agreements with Springer Nature and Wiley, increasing financial support for ISU researchers.
Since 2021, Milner Library’s Article Processing Charge (APC) waivers have covered over 115 articles, saving ISU authors more than $390,000 while ensuring broader dissemination of their work. The new agreements include:
• Springer Nature: APC waivers for 25 articles in 2025, increasing to 27 by 2027.
• Wiley: APC waivers for 21 articles per year through 2027.
These agreements benefit faculty, staff, and students, enhancing their ability to publish openly and increase research impact.
