MDPI has released its 2024 Annual Achievements Report, underscoring its ongoing efforts to enhance efficiency, transparency, and excellence in scholarly publishing. The report highlights the organization’s continued expansion and its commitment to advancing open access on a global scale.
Over the past year, MDPI published 238,000 peer-reviewed open-access articles, which collectively received more than 25 million downloads. As part of its global expansion strategy, the organization established a new office in Seoul, Republic of Korea, further strengthening its international presence. The workforce also grew to 6,650 employees across 21 offices worldwide.
A major focus in 2024 was research integrity, with MDPI tripling the size of its research integrity team and joining initiatives such as STM’s Integrity Hub and United2Act. Additionally, the organization expanded its institutional partnerships, now collaborating with more than 900 institutions, including a significant new agreement with ZB MED in Germany.
MDPI journals continue to gain recognition, with over 90% of evaluated titles accepted in Web of Science and nearly 300 journals expected to receive a Journal Impact Factor in 2025. Author satisfaction remains a priority, with 95% of submitting authors rating their publishing experience as excellent or good.
