The Scholarly Kitchen, a leading blog in scholarly communications established by the Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP), has appointed Lettie Y. Conrad as its new Deputy Editor. In this volunteer leadership role, Conrad will support editorial strategy, manage contributor engagement, and help ensure consistent quality across the blog’s expanding content portfolio.
Conrad brings significant experience in scholarly publishing and human-centered design, drawing from her current work at LibLynx in identity and access solutions, as well as her teaching role at San José State University’s School of Information. She has been actively involved in TSK for several years as a contributor and previously served as North American Editor for Learned Publishing. Her leadership roles within SSP and the Association for Information Science and Technology further reflect her ongoing commitment to collaborative editorial work and advancing diverse perspectives in the field.
The Deputy Editor role was introduced to provide continuity and expanded capacity for TSK’s editorial operations. In addition to reviewing submissions and coordinating guest contributions, the Deputy Editor will contribute to the blog’s strategic direction, oversee publication workflows, and support audience engagement through events, webinars, and social media initiatives.
This appointment comes at a time of continued growth for The Scholarly Kitchen, which has become a widely read resource for professionals navigating the evolving landscape of research dissemination. The addition of a Deputy Editor is intended to strengthen the platform’s editorial infrastructure and extend its capacity to respond to new challenges and conversations across the scholarly publishing ecosystem.
