CCC has announced an expansion of its RightsLink Author Services platform, introducing new features that allow scholarly publishers to automate promotional offers and publication charges at key points throughout the publishing process. The enhancements are designed to provide publishers with scalable and flexible tools for engaging authors more effectively amid evolving market conditions.
The updated services will be presented at the 47th Annual Meeting of the Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP), held from 28 to 30 May in Baltimore, Maryland. CCC will also preview Ringgold Researchers, a new tool in beta that supports accurate identification of researchers, their institutional affiliations, and research-related relationships—aimed at improving author and contributor data across publishing workflows.
CCC will participate in several sessions at the conference:
Education Session 4B on 30 May will explore the intersection of AI, copyright law, academic knowledge, and commercial innovation. Previews Session on 30 May will introduce Ringgold Researchers as a new approach to trusted researcher identity. Poster Session on 29 May will feature a data-focused exploration of the future of society publishing.
In addition, CCC’s OA Intelligence platform—featuring AI-based data disambiguation and agreement modeling tools—has been named a finalist for the 2025 EPIC Awards. The winners will be announced during the EPIC Awards Ceremony on 29 May as part of the SSP Annual Meeting.
CCC continues to provide licensing, rights, and permissions services to support content reuse, alongside ongoing advocacy and education around copyright and intellectual property. The organization’s AI, Copyright & Licensing hub offers resources for a broad range of stakeholders across the content ecosystem.
