EBSCO Clinical Decisions appoints Roy Ziegelstein as Editor-in-Chief of DynaMed -

EBSCO Clinical Decisions has named Roy Ziegelstein, M.D., MACP, as the new Editor-in-Chief of DynaMed, its evidence-based clinical decision support tool. Ziegelstein will assume the role on June 30, 2025, bringing more than three decades of experience in academic medicine and healthcare leadership to the position.

Ziegelstein currently holds the Sarah Miller Coulson and Frank L. Coulson, Jr. Professorship of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he most recently served as Vice Dean for Education. He began his career at Johns Hopkins in 1986, completing his residency and cardiology fellowship before joining the faculty in 1993. Over the years, he has held multiple leadership roles, including Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program and Vice Chair for Humanism in the Department of Medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

Internationally recognized for his research on the relationship between cardiovascular disease and depression, Ziegelstein is also known for his commitment to patient-centered care, particularly through his role in the Aliki Initiative at Johns Hopkins. His teaching contributions have earned multiple awards, underscoring his influence in medical education.

Ziegelstein stated that his new role offers a unique opportunity to extend his impact beyond academia. By leading DynaMed, he aims to support clinicians worldwide with trusted, evidence-based guidance at the point of care. He emphasized his commitment to advancing the platform’s global reach and strengthening its role in delivering reliable clinical information.

According to EBSCO Clinical Decisions, Ziegelstein’s appointment marks a pivotal moment for DynaMed as it integrates generative AI tools like Dyna AI to enhance real-time clinical support. His leadership is expected to deepen the platform’s alignment with best practices in evidence-based medicine and reinforce its utility in everyday healthcare settings.
