The Publications Division of the American Chemical Society (ACS), a major scientific society supporting chemical research and education, has renewed its partnership with Jisc, the UK-based digital infrastructure provider for research and education. The agreement extends through 2025 and 2026, continuing to support open access publishing and comprehensive reading access to ACS journals for researchers at participating UK institutions.
The renewed partnership allows authors affiliated with Jisc-member institutions to publish their research openly across all ACS journals under Gold open access terms. The agreement also provides uninterrupted institutional access to ACS’s full journal portfolio, ensuring UK researchers can both read and disseminate scientific findings without access barriers.
This continuation builds on the previous success of the collaboration, which facilitated open access publication for over 99 percent of articles submitted by authors from Jisc-subscribing institutions. The partnership is positioned as a critical enabler of open research practices that support knowledge sharing, collaboration, and accelerated innovation.
The agreement forms part of ACS Publications’ broader commitment to global open access, which now includes more than 1,600 institutions across 49 countries under similar transformative publishing models. These agreements are designed to simplify the open access process and expand the reach of scientific research by making findings immediately and freely available to the international research community.
