King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) has joined MDPI’s Institutional Open Access Program (IOAP), expanding the publisher’s academic collaborations in Thailand and strengthening efforts in open access and academic publishing.
Under the agreement, KMUTNB researchers will receive a 10% discount on article processing charges for submissions to all MDPI journals. The university will also gain access to MDPI’s SuSy submission system, which provides full article metadata and pricing transparency for institutional authors. This partnership is designed to support greater visibility and accessibility of KMUTNB’s scholarly publications.
The agreement follows coordination between MDPI’s Bangkok Office, CEO Stefan Tochev, and KMUTNB’s academic and library leadership. It also lays the foundation for future joint initiatives in academic events, journal publishing, collaboration, and recruitment.
