Columbia University Libraries adopt FOLIO to streamline access and analytics -

Columbia University Libraries have transitioned from legacy library systems to FOLIO, an open-source library services platform supported by EBSCO Information Services. The shift consolidates multiple systems into a unified infrastructure designed to enhance research support, resource management, and service delivery.

The platform integrates with Columbia’s CLIO discovery system, EBSCO Discovery Service(EDS), and GOBI® Library Solutions, while also leveraging EBSCO’s Full Text Finder, Locate, and MARC Update services for improved metadata and fulfillment processes. FOLIO is also linked to Columbia’s enterprise accounting systems to reduce data duplication.

Additionally, Columbia is deploying EBSCO’s Panorama analytics platform to gain real-time insights into resource usage and user engagement. These analytics will inform decisions in collection development, budgeting, and user services, reinforcing the Libraries’ commitment to openness, interoperability, and responsive research infrastructure.
