15th GW Ethics in Publishing Conference set for October -

The 15th edition of the George Washington (GW) Ethics in Publishing Conference will take place on October 9–10, 2025. The first day will be held in a hybrid format at the GW Arlington Education Center and online from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., while the second day will be fully virtual from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The event will feature presentations from students and professionals across trade, academic, and scholarly publishing, library and information sciences, and scholarly communications. Topics will include artificial intelligence, multilingual publishing, workplace equity, open access, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, accessibility, peer review, and publishing strategies.

Registration is free for all participants. An in-person ticket includes access to the second day’s virtual sessions, while a virtual ticket grants access to both days online. Attendees are required to indicate their participation format when registering.

The conference is organized by the GW Graduate Program in Publishing, in collaboration with the GW Journal of Ethics in Publishing, and supported by the College of Professional Studies at George Washington University. Sponsors include the Association of University Presses, Society for Scholarly Publishing, Association of American Publishers, Council of Science Editors, International Society of Managing and Technical Editors, and Book Industry Study Group.

The complete schedule, including presentation abstracts and speaker biographies, will be released in the coming weeks. In-person attendees will be provided with lunch, and a social hour will follow the closing session.
