Edward Huang, associate professor in Auburn University’s Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of Advanced Engineering Informatics, an Elsevier Q1 journal specializing in data-driven and AI-enabled methods in engineering.
The journal, with an Impact Factor of 9.9 and a CiteScore of 13.1, receives about 40 submissions daily. It publishes research across domains including manufacturing, robotics, aerospace, civil engineering, and digital twins, with a strong focus on artificial intelligence.
As Editor-in-Chief, Huang will guide the journal’s editorial vision, oversee the review process, and ensure high standards of integrity and scholarly rigor. His leadership is expected to shape the direction of AI-enabled engineering research, supporting innovation that addresses real-world challenges while maintaining reliability, safety, and ethical responsibility.
The appointment also enhances Auburn’s visibility in the global engineering research community and reflects Huang’s commitment to advancing interdisciplinary collaboration in AI-driven engineering.
