Seven-member jury named for Karger’s 2024 Vesalius Innovation Award -

Karger Publishers has announced the jury for its sixth annual Vesalius Innovation Award, which supports early-stage startups in health sciences and academic publishing. The award will distribute a total of $25,000, with $15,000 granted to the winner and $5,000 each to two runners-up. The application process has closed, and the jury is now reviewing submissions.

The focus of this year’s competition includes responsible use of artificial intelligence, research integrity, and sustainable knowledge transfer. Finalists will present their innovations at STM Week on December 9 at BMA House in London, offering increased visibility and networking opportunities.

The Vesalius Innovation Award, created in collaboration with the STM Association, honors the legacy of Andreas Vesalius, a foundational figure in modern anatomy. It aims to promote innovative solutions that strengthen the healthcare and publishing ecosystems. This marks the sixth consecutive year of the award, supported by ongoing sponsorship and community recognition.

Karger Publishers, headquartered in Switzerland, operates in 15 countries and maintains a portfolio of over 100 journals. It also offers multimedia medical content and education tools across diverse formats, including AR/VR, 3D animation, and podcasts. The organization serves both academic institutions and corporate medical communication needs.
