CLOCKSS launches pilot to preserve Diamond Open Access publications -

CLOCKSS has introduced a new pilot initiative aimed at preserving Diamond Open Access (OA) publications—journals that operate without charging authors or readers. These journals play a key role in community-driven research dissemination but often lack the infrastructure for long-term digital preservation.

This pilot allows libraries, including new participants and existing supporters, to contribute to safeguarding this vital segment of open scholarship at no additional cost. By preserving Diamond OA content, the initiative reinforces CLOCKSS’s mission to secure equitable and diverse research outputs for future generations.

This initiative addresses that gap, ensuring these valuable contributions remain accessible, discoverable, and secure for future generations.
