ALPSP announces 2025 award winners -

The Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP) announced the 2025 award winners during its annual conference in Manchester, UK.

Richard Gallagher, president and Editor-in-Chief of Annual Reviews, received the ALPSP Award for Contribution to Scholarly Publishing. Over more than a decade, his leadership has been marked by the transition of the Annual Reviews portfolio to open access, the launch of the Subscribe to Open model, and acquisitions that expanded the organization’s role as a community resource.

The ALPSP Impact Award went to Frontiers for Young Minds, which engages children aged 8–15 in the peer review process, fostering science literacy and public engagement with research. Atom Grants was highly recommended for its AI-based platform designed to bridge the gap between researchers and funders.

The ALPSP Award for Innovation in Publishing was presented to AI Talks with Bone & Joint, which uses generative AI to convert scholarly papers into podcasts for time-constrained orthopedic surgeons.

In addition, the ALPSP Rising Star Awards recognized four professionals from Liverpool University Press, Frontiers, Edinburgh University Press, and LSE Press for their contributions to scholarly publishing.
