Wiley advances KnowItAll 2026 with Trendfinder for chemometric analysis and workflow enhancements -

Wiley has announced the release of KnowItAll 2026 and introduced Trendfinder, an application that integrates chemometric analysis into the KnowItAll interface to uncover meaningful patterns in complex spectral and chromatographic datasets. The company positioned the Trendfinder application update as an advance to its comprehensive KnowItAll software suite for spectral analysis and analytical data management. The release adds Principal Component Analysis (PCA) within the KnowItAll environment alongside enhancements for LC-MS and NMR and other workflow improvements.

Wiley described Trendfinder as bringing PCA directly into the existing interface so users can perform pattern discovery without separate tools. The company stated that the application is intended to support user-friendly and cost-effective chemometric analysis while extending capabilities across multiple analytical techniques.

According to Graeme Whitley, senior director of Data Science Solutions at Wiley, the new application addresses demand for rapid chemometric analysis without specialized statistical software or expertise. According to Whitley, KnowItAll 2026 enables pattern analysis within the interface researchers already use, reducing the need for additional software or referrals to other teams.

According to Wiley, Trendfinder allows users to run PCA on analytical datasets and discover hidden patterns and trends without leaving KnowItAll. The interface supports NMR, IR, MS, Raman, UV-Vis, and chromatography data. For database subscribers, Trendfinder can also be applied to KnowItAll reference databases to extend analysis beyond traditional searching.

The company outlined additional KnowItAll 2026 benefits, including enhanced LC-MS, GC-MS, and NMR capabilities; expanded search and database-building features; expanded language support with Korean added alongside English, French, German, Chinese, and Japanese; completion of a comprehensive security audit; and a Microsoft Installer (MSI) option that enables IT organizations to deploy KnowItAll centrally and silently to desktops for enterprise or campus environments.

Wiley stated that KnowItAll provides a manufacturer-neutral software environment to identify, analyze, and manage analytical data across IR, GC-MS, LC-MS, NMR, Raman, and UV-Vis. Powered by Wiley spectral reference libraries and search algorithms, the suite is described as delivering fast, reliable spectral analysis to streamline laboratory workflows and support decision making.
