Brent Gordon to Head Elsevier’s Healthcare Education Business -

Elsevier has named Brent Gordon as President of its global Healthcare Education unit, which delivers nursing, health, and medical education content via digital learning platforms and serves over 10 million learners worldwide. In addition to leading Elsevier’s Nursing & Health Education division, Gordon will now drive innovation across solutions built on trusted content and technologies including AI, 3D animation, digital simulations, and end-to-end analytics. The portfolio spans Sherpath AI, ClinicalKey Student, Shadow Health, HESI, Complete Anatomy, and Osmosis, with the aim of an integrated, outcomes-focused experience for educators and students.

Jan Herzhoff, President of Elsevier Health, characterized Gordon as a forward-looking leader who consistently converts ambitious ideas into practical results, and added that his grasp of education and emphasis on innovation will speed Elsevier’s effort to reshape healthcare learning and improve learning outcomes for future healthcare professionals.

Gordon brings 25+ years in education technology. Since joining Elsevier in 2019, he has expanded Nursing & Health Education; launched Elsevier 360 for Nursing and Sherpath AI—described as the first generative-AI tool for nursing education; and led acquisitions including Shadow Health and Authess. Gordon highlighted the team’s core purpose is enabling learners and clinicians to succeed, and that delivering AI-enabled tools, trusted content, and predictive analytics helps informed decision-making, better patient outcomes, and tangible progress in healthcare; he added that it’s a pivotal moment for healthcare education and expressed enthusiasm to lead the unit in preparing more students for clinical practice.
