MDPI has announced the appointment of Prof. Dr. Binshan Lin as Associate Editor of Analytics. Prof. Dr. Lin is the BellSouth Endowed Professor at the College of Business at Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) and Director of Research at the College of Business at LSUS. He received a PhD from Louisiana State University in 1988.
Prof. Dr. Lin is a nine-time recipient of the Outstanding Faculty Award at LSUS and received the LSUS Provost’s Award in 2022. His honors include the Computer Educator of the Year award from the International Association for Computer Information Systems (IACIS) in 2005, the Ben Bauman Award for Excellence in IACIS in 2003, the IACIS Directors’ Award in 2012, the Distinguished Service Award at the Southwest Decision Sciences Institute (SWDSI) in 2007, the Outstanding Educator Award at the SWDSI in 2004, and the Emerald Literati Club Awards for Excellence in 2003.
Prof. Dr. Lin has published more than 300 research articles in refereed journals, with an h-index of 55 and more than 10,050 citations. His research areas include business intelligence, data analytics, decision sciences, informatics, machine learning, and operations management.
He has held numerous leadership and conference roles, including President of SEDSI (2023–2024), Program Chair of the IACIS Pacific 2005 Conference, Program Chair of the Management International Conference (MIC) in 2006, and General Chair of the MIC Conference in 2007 and 2008. He also served as Program Chair of the Technology Innovation and Industrial Management (TIIM) International Conference in 2009, Conference Director of the TIIM Conference from 2010 to 2016 and in 2020, and Conference Director of the MakeLearn International Conference from 2012 to 2016 and in 2020. He additionally served as a vice president of the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI) across two terms from 2007 to 2009 and 2010 to 2012.
