MDPI launches Editorial Guidance service enhances journal development and open access publishing support -

MDPI has launched a new Editorial Guidance service within its Journal and Article Management System (JAMS) to support the growth and development of scholarly journals. The service is designed to help journals strengthen quality, increase their appeal to authors, and expand readership through open access publishing. It provides personalized support in areas such as indexing strategy, peer review optimization, journal development, and publishing best practices.

MDPI maintains partnerships with more than 180 learned societies and has launched over 400 journals, and this background informs the strategic expertise integrated into the service. The combination of technical capabilities and editorial support is intended to help publishers operate effectively in a competitive scholarly environment.

Insights shared about the launch indicate that users of the platform had expressed a need for assistance extending beyond submission management, particularly in practical aspects of improving journal performance. The new service has been incorporated directly into the platform to make editorial guidance accessible to clients working with newly launched titles as well as established journals.
