The IEEE Computational Intelligence Society has announced the appointment of Min Jiang as Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Computational Intelligence Magazine, effective January 1, 2026. The appointment is based on his experience in computational intelligence and his record of research and service to the academic community. He is a professor of artificial intelligence at Xiamen University in China and director of the Intelligent Multimedia Laboratory.
Min Jiang’s research covers evolutionary computation, learning-driven optimization, and physics-informed and neuro-symbolic machine learning for applications in science. He has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and has edited several special issues and a conference-proceedings volume.
Jiang contributes to the global research community through editorial, conference, and review activities. He serves as an associate editor for IEEE Computational Intelligence Magazine, the IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, the IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation, and the IEEE Transactions on Cognitive and Developmental Systems.
Min Jiang’s recognitions include inclusion in the Stanford/Elsevier World’s Top 2% Scientists lists for 2023 and 2024, the Wu Wen-jun AI Natural Science Award in 2019, the IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics Outstanding Reviewer Award in 2016, the Publons Top 1% Reviewer Award in 2019, and the IEEE CIM Outstanding Paper Award in 2024. Within the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society, he has chaired the Intelligent Systems and Applications Technical Committee and is the founding chair of the IEEE CIS Xiamen Chapter, which received the 2016 Best Chapter Award.
