GSA appoints new Editors-in-Chief across three scholarly journals -

The Gerontological Society of America (GSA) has appointed three new Editors-in-Chief across its journal portfolio, effective January 1. The appointments follow competitive selection processes and reflect GSA’s focus on expanding interdisciplinary research in aging.

• Jason D. Flatt will lead the Social Sciences section of The Journals of Gerontology, Series B. Flatt is associate professor and director of the Center for Health Disparities Research at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The journal publishes qualitative and quantitative studies across disciplines such as sociology, economics, and anthropology.

• Karen Kopera-Frye has been named Editor-in-Chief of Gerontology & Geriatrics Education, published by Taylor & Francis. Kopera-Frye is a professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences at New Mexico State University. The journal focuses on research and innovation in gerontological and geriatric education.

• Joyce Siette will serve as Editor-in-Chief of the Medical Sciences section of The Journals of Gerontology, Series A, published by Oxford Journals. Siette holds a senior research fellowship at Western Sydney University and is deputy director at the MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour and Development. The journal addresses topics such as biomarkers of aging, multimorbidity, and clinical trials in aging research.

The Gerontological Society of America is a U.S.-based interdisciplinary organization focused on aging. It publishes multiple peer-reviewed journals covering biological, psychological, social, and educational aspects of aging research.
