AIP Publishing and ACA appoint Mark Wilson as Editor-in-Chief of Structural Dynamics -

AIP Publishing (AIPP) and ACA: The Structural Science Society (ACA) have appointed Mark Wilson as the new Editor-in-Chief of Structural Dynamics. Wilson is a professor and Associate Department Head of the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and brings more than 25 years of research, editorial, and leadership experience to the role.

Wilson is widely recognized for contributions to diffraction-based studies of enzyme dynamics, including time-resolved serial crystallography, X-ray diffuse scattering, and analyses of correlated atomic motion in macromolecules. Research conducted by the Wilson laboratory uses synchrotron and X-ray free electron laser (XFEL) sources to study cysteine-dependent enzymes and proteins central to redox biochemistry.

In addition to research activity, Wilson has served on proposal review panels for major light sources, contributed to journal editorial boards, and held national-level leadership roles within ACA. Scientific work attributed to Wilson includes early mix-and-inject serial crystallography experiments, studies of catalytically activated enzyme dynamics, and research demonstrating how crystallographic data can capture dynamic molecular information previously considered inaccessible.
