Alliant International University adopts EBSCO FOLIO to modernize library operations -

Alliant International University has begun implementing the FOLIO library services platform to modernize library workflows across its multi-campus system in California, with support from EBSCO Information Services’ (EBSCO) support. The university joins a growing network of institutions worldwide using EBSCO-hosted FOLIO to streamline operations and support open collaboration.

After nearly 15 years on its previous integrated library system (ILS), Alliant is adopting FOLIO to improve efficiency and provide a consistent experience for staff and users across six campuses. The platform is designed to simplify workflows and enable interoperability across discovery, management, and analytics functions.

Alliant’s libraries currently rely on integrated discovery, linking, and collection management capabilities supported by EBSCO to connect users with academic content across disciplines. The implementation of FOLIO will bring these capabilities together within an open, interoperable environment, supported by analytics, usage insights, and holdings management to support data-informed collection decisions across the library system.

The transition builds on the libraries’ recent migration to EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) and Full Text Finder (FTF), which established a foundation for a phased and more efficient implementation. The combined ecosystem includes FOLIO alongside EBSCO Discovery Service, GOBI, and Panorama, enabling libraries to streamline operations and deliver a connected experience for users.
