Canadian Journal of Physiology and Pharmacology appoints Kelly Hyndman and Dylan Burger as Co-Editors-in-Chief -

The Canadian Journal of Physiology and Pharmacology (CJPP) has appointed Dr. Kelly Hyndman and Dr. Dylan Burger as Co-Editors-in-Chief succeeding Dr. Lorrie Kirshenbaum, who stepped down after three years in the role. The journal is published by Canadian Science Publishing.

Dr. Hyndman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Co-Associate Director of the Nephrology Research and Training Center. Her academic background includes a doctorate in zoology from the University of Florida and postdoctoral training at the Medical College of Georgia. Her research focuses on fluid and electrolyte homeostasis, drawing on basic science models to study physiological adaptation across species.

In addition to her research work, Dr. Hyndman serves as a standing member of the NIH PBKD Study Section and holds editorial board positions across multiple kidney and physiology journals.

Dr. Burger is a Senior Scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, where he serves as Associate Director of the Inflammation and Chronic Disease Program and Director of the Kidney Research Centre. He is also a Professor in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine and the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Ottawa. His academic training includes a doctorate in physiology and pharmacology from the University of Western Ontario.

Dr. Burger is currently President of the Canadian Society of Pharmacology and Therapeutics and serves on the board of the International Society for Extracellular Vesicles. His research is internationally recognized for its focus on extracellular vesicle biology and signaling in conditions such as diabetes, aging, and renal disease.
