Estuarine Management and Technologies accepted for inclusion in DOAJ -

Estuarine Management and Technologies has been accepted for inclusion in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) following a rigorous assessment of its compliance with global standards of ethics, transparency, and quality. DOAJ is internationally recognized as a trusted quality filter for open-access journals.

The evaluation process examined the journal’s peer-review procedures, editorial governance, transparency practices—such as publication fees and funding disclosures—and ethical policies addressing issues including plagiarism and conflicts of interest. Inclusion in DOAJ is widely regarded by institutions, funders, and libraries as a signal of credibility that distinguishes legitimate journals from predatory or low-quality publications.

The journal’s recognition comes two years after the journal’s launch as part of a joint initiative led by a team of scientists headed by Dr. Soufiane Haddout of Ibn Tofail University in Morocco, in collaboration with open-access scientific publisher and technology provider Pensoft. All articles published in the journal are now indexed and accessible through DOAJ.

Future articles will be automatically harvested by DOAJ immediately upon publication through data export workflows powered by Pensoft’s ARPHA Publishing Platform. This integration is intended to enhance discoverability and ensure timely indexing of new research outputs.

Since early 2024, the journal has focused on supporting the exchange of research related to the conservation and sustainable management of estuarine ecosystems, emphasizing new technologies and innovative approaches. The journal operates under a Diamond Open Access model, meaning that neither authors nor readers incur publishing or access charges.
