Canadian Science Publishing launches open access journal on Circularity in Built Environments -

Canadian Science Publishing (CSP) has announced the launch of Circularity in Built Environments, a new open-access journal scheduled to open for submissions in March 2026.

As built environments face growing demands for sustainability and resilience, the journal is positioned as a dedicated forum for research that advances circular economy principles across design, technology, and materials. The publication will focus on how built environments can be adapted and developed to minimize material waste and pollution while enabling resources to circulate and recirculate more effectively.

The journal will publish original research and commentary addressing innovative technologies and design strategies that support circularity in the built environment. By bringing together interdisciplinary perspectives, Circularity in Built Environments aims to connect theoretical advances with practical, real-world applications.

The editorial leadership includes Founding Editor Dr. Avi Friedman, Professor at McGill University’s Peter Guo-hua Fu School of Architecture and Director of the Affordable Homes Research Group. The journal is co-led by Dr. Naomi Keena, Assistant Professor at the same school and Director of McGill’s TRACE Lab, and Dr. Marco Raugei, Senior Research Fellow at Oxford Brookes University.
