Complutense University of Madrid renews partnership with OCLC for WorldShare Management Services -

Complutense University of Madrid has renewed collaboration with OCLC through a new five-year agreement for WorldShare Management Services (WMS), extending a partnership that has continued for more than a decade.

The renewal reinforces the university’s continued use of WMS, a cloud-based library services platform designed to manage library operations through an integrated system connected to a global network of library data.

The agreement also includes continued use of Tipasa, OCLC’s interlibrary loan management system, which automates workflows and improves delivery speed for resource sharing between libraries.

Complutense University of Madrid operates the largest university library system in Spain and one of the largest in Europe. The library network includes 26 libraries located across university campuses, along with the Historical Library. The system serves more than 80,000 students and maintains collections including more than three million books, approximately 170,000 digitized works, and nearly 686,000 electronic monographs.

The renewed agreement reflects ongoing efforts by the university to enhance services provided to students, researchers, and faculty members while improving operational efficiency across library workflows.
