The COAR Annual Meeting 2026 will be held at the University of Minho in Braga, Portugal, from June 1–3, 2026. Bringing together COAR’s international membership, the conference will address pressing challenges facing the open science community in an era of global volatility and technological transformation. Through workshops, high-level talks, and roundtable discussions, participants will explore how to advance an open and interoperable scholarly communications system, harness opportunities presented by artificial intelligence while safeguarding trust and transparency, and balance global discoverability with local sovereignty of diverse research outputs. Registration for COAR members and invited guests opens in March 2026.
