Finalists have been announced for the 2026 Excellence in Publishing, Information Technology, & Communications (EPIC) Awards. The awards, now in their second year, recognize contributions to scholarly publishing through creativity, collaboration, and innovation.
Finalists were selected across five main categories, each with multiple subcategories. Winners will be announced on May 28 at the EPIC Awards Ceremony during the Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP) 48th Annual Meeting in Chula Vista. The Tools and Products category includes submission systems, hosting platform features, author tools, integrity tools, and other products.
The Publications category includes journals, short-form content, magazines, reports, and student journals in both literary and research formats. The Marketing category includes campaigns, social media presence, branding, and student publication campaigns.
The Media category includes video and film, podcasts, data visualization, and narrative or multidisciplinary digital projects. The Initiatives category includes programs focused on diversity, equity, inclusivity, accessibility, and publishing education and training.
The awards ceremony coincides with SSP’s Annual Meeting scheduled from May 27 to May 29, 2026, in Chula Vista, California. A total of more than 98 entries were received for the 2026 awards. Submissions for the 2027 EPIC Awards are expected to open in late 2026.
