JMIR Publications appoints Rachele Hendricks‑Sturrup as Lead Editor -

JMIR Publications has appointed Rachele Hendricks‑Sturrup, DHSc, MSc, MA, FACTS, as the new lead editor of the Journal of Medical Internet Research (JMIR). In this role, she will provide strategic leadership grounded in scientific expertise, working with a diverse editorial board, the editor‑in‑chief, and journal staff.

Hendricks‑Sturrup noted that she has long been impressed by the journal’s ability to attract high‑quality research from both early‑career and established researchers worldwide. She stated that joining JMIR as lead editor is an honor and emphasized her commitment to supporting authors, reviewers, and readers while advancing the journal’s mission to disseminate thought‑provoking content that contributes to scientific progress.

Her career includes serving as research director of Real‑World Evidence at the Duke‑Margolis Institute for Health Policy, Duke University, where she focuses on biomedical innovation, regulatory issues, implementation science, and translational research. She previously worked as health policy counsel at the Future of Privacy Forum, leading initiatives on health and genetic data. Hendricks‑Sturrup holds a Doctor of Health Science degree and completed postdoctoral research training at the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute and Harvard Medical School. She was also selected for the inaugural 2026 cohort of Fellows of the Association for Clinical and Translational Science.
