Canadian Science Publishing has announced a Read and Publish agreement with Universidad de Concepción, effective from January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2028. Under the arrangement, corresponding authors affiliated with the university will receive full read access and unlimited open access publishing in selected hybrid journals, with article processing charges (APCs) waived.
The agreement is intended to expand access to research and reduce financial barriers for authors. Participating journals include Applied Physiology, Nutrition, and Metabolism, Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Botany, and the Canadian Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, among others. These publications cover a wide range of disciplines, from life sciences and chemistry to engineering and environmental studies.
By removing APCs for affiliated authors, the agreement supports equitable participation in open research and enhances the visibility of scientific contributions from Universidad de Concepción. Canadian Science Publishing noted that the initiative reflects its ongoing commitment to fostering accessible and collaborative research practices.
