Wiley launches Advanced Immunology journal to expand research access -

Wiley has announced the launch of Advanced Immunology, a new open access journal focused on basic, clinical, and translational immunology. The journal is intended to connect fundamental science with clinical discovery, deepening understanding of the immune system in both health and disease.

The title is part of Wiley’s expanding Advanced Portfolio, which now includes more than 30 journals across disciplines. Recent additions such as Advanced Oncology and Advanced Brain reflect the portfolio’s growth into areas of significant scientific importance.

Advanced Immunology will publish research ranging from immune mechanisms to emerging technologies and clinical applications. Its scope is designed to serve a broad community of researchers, including basic immunologists, clinical scientists, and medical professionals working across related fields.

Jay H. Bream, Ph.D., professor of molecular microbiology and immunology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, has been appointed Editor‑in‑Chief. Bream has more than two decades of research experience in cytokine biology, HIV immunology, vaccine science, and translational research, with over 90 peer‑reviewed publications. He noted that the pace of immunology research is reshaping medicine and said the journal aims to highlight high‑impact studies while fostering collaboration among scientists worldwide.

The journal is supported by an editorial advisory board composed of leading academics from institutions across the globe. Wiley stated that the Advanced Portfolio is designed to provide researchers with a publishing model that reflects the interdisciplinary nature of science, offering streamlined processes and close collaboration between authors and editors.

Anchored by Advanced Science and Advanced Materials, the portfolio has established a reputation for rigorous editorial standards and broad accessibility, which Wiley intends to extend to the new immunology title.
