The Bulgarian Association of Clinical Immunology announced that its official journal has transitioned to Pensoft’s open access publishing ARPHA platform under the title Immunology in Medicine. The move provides the journal with a refreshed design and streamlined publishing workflow.
The journal continues to emphasize translational research, aiming to bridge fundamental immunology with clinical practice. Its scope includes cellular and molecular mechanisms of immunity, autoimmunity, autoinflammatory disorders, transplantation immunology, tumor immunology, and immunotherapy.
Thanks to BACI’s support, publication in the journal remains free for authors. As part of ARPHA, manuscripts benefit from an integrated publishing system covering peer review, editing, dissemination, and archiving. Articles are freely available in PDF, indexed in CrossRef, and preserved in CLOCKSS and Zenodo.
Since joining ARPHA, the journal has published two studies:
• A case study by Vasilev et al. (2026) describing an atypical immune response in mononucleosis that initially resembled a T‑cell malignancy, later clarified through novel flow cytometry techniques.
• A study by Garev et al. (2026) analyzing 52 patients with metastatic non‑small cell lung cancer, which found that baseline eosinophil counts may help predict severe side effects from immunotherapy, offering a cost‑effective tool for risk stratification.
