Qassim University in Saudi Arabia has entered into a one-year open access (OA) partnership with academic publisher Taylor & Francis. The agreement provides Qassim University researchers with support to publish OA in a wide range of journals, including those under the Taylor & Francis, Routledge, and Dove Medical Press imprints. Both hybrid and fully OA journals are included, offering researchers multiple publishing options.
The partnership is intended to strengthen international knowledge exchange and broaden the visibility of Qassim University’s research output. Publishing openly is expected to facilitate collaboration across disciplines and borders while aligning with the university’s values of transparency and innovation.
Waleed Albattah, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at Qassim University, noted that the agreement demonstrates the institution’s commitment to open science and global research visibility. He emphasized that enabling researchers to publish OA in international journals supports collaboration, accelerates knowledge exchange, and contributes to Saudi Vision 2030’s goals for a knowledge-based economy.
Carolyn Kirby, Vice President and Commercial Lead at Taylor & Francis, stated that the partnership would provide Qassim researchers with opportunities to expand the reach of their work beyond academic audiences. She highlighted the university’s recognized research quality and suggested that the agreement would help increase the impact of its contributions worldwide.
