The Plant Journal has transitioned to Gold Open Access, making all newly accepted articles freely available to readers worldwide. From this point forward, accepted submissions will be published open access, removing subscription barriers and allowing broader dissemination of plant science research.
The move is intended to increase accessibility and visibility for authors and readers alike. By eliminating paywalls, the journal aims to reach a wider audience, including researchers, students, and the broader scientific community.
Authors at hundreds of institutions are eligible to have article processing charges (APCs) covered through Wiley’s Read & Publish agreements. In addition, members of the Society for Experimental Biology (SEB) receive a 10% discount on APCs.
The Plant Journal publishes original research across all areas of plant biology. The transition to Gold Open Access is expected to ensure that new discoveries are available to the widest possible readership.
