OA Switchboard Plugin now available for OJS 3.5 -

The OA Switchboard has announced that its integration plugin is now compatible with Open Journal Systems (OJS) version 3.5.0.x, enabling journals using OJS 3.5 to adopt the tool immediately.

Once activated, the plugin automatically transmits public article metadata to relevant research funders and institutions via the OA Switchboard at the point of publication. The metadata includes information about author affiliations and research funders, ensuring that organizations supporting the work receive timely visibility of published outputs.

This process occurs without requiring additional manual input from editorial teams, helping diamond open access journals increase the visibility of their published research among institutions, consortia, and funders.

Documentation is available in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, alongside a demonstration video that explains installation and use.

The plugin was developed as free and open‑source software by Lepidus Tecnologia for the OA Switchboard, with Openjournals.nl serving as a testing partner. Funding for the project was provided by the Max Planck Digital Library.
