Wiley supports 2026 James P. Allison Institute Symposium on Immunology and Human Health -

Wiley’s Advanced Portfolio will support scientific discussions and research exchange at the 2026 James P. Allison Institute Scientific Symposium, organized by The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. The event will focus on developments in immunology, cancer biology, and human health.

Themed “Immune Set Points: Stress, Wellness, and System Control,” the symposium will take place on October 30, 2026, at the TMC3 Collaborative Building in the Texas Medical Center’s Helix Park. It is expected to bring together more than 1,500 scientists, clinicians, researchers, journal editors, research trainees, and innovators to discuss scientific findings, encourage collaboration, and examine developments in cancer immunology and immunotherapy.

Established at UT MD Anderson, the James P. Allison Institute focuses on discovery, translational, and clinical research that integrates immunobiology across scientific disciplines. The institute is named after James P. Allison, who received the 2018 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for discoveries in T-cell biology that contributed to the development of ipilimumab, the first immune checkpoint inhibitor approved for cancer treatment. His research helped establish the foundation for modern cancer immunotherapy.

The 2026 symposium program will include a plenary keynote by Nobel laureate William G. Kaelin Jr., scientific sessions across three tracks, a poster session for research trainees, and a panel discussion featuring six Nobel laureates. The panel will be moderated by Alice Park, senior health correspondent at TIME.

The symposium also coincides with the expansion of Wiley’s Advanced Portfolio in the life and health sciences. Recent additions include the journals Advanced Oncology, Advanced Immunology, and Advanced Healthy Aging, which cover research areas aligned with the event’s scientific focus.

As part of its participation, Wiley’s Advanced Portfolio will support a dedicated dinner featuring a guest speaker, awards recognizing emerging researchers and scientific contributions, and an on-site podcast series. The podcast discussions will feature researchers examining topics covered at the symposium, developments in oncology and immunology, human health, and emerging scientific questions.
