Understanding the needs of researchers, students and lecturers is central to our survival as publishers and a core part of our mission yet is not always given enough time or energy. Indeed, recent presentations at UKSG and ALPSP from young researchers have caused surprise and stimulated debate. It’s essential we understand how research is done and what we are doing to advance that research.
