The Society for Scholarly Publishing will host the ninth annual New Directions in Scholarly Publishing Seminar on October 7–8, 2025, at the American Geophysical Union Conference Center in Washington, DC, with virtual access via Zoom and the SSP Engage App. The seminar’s 2025 theme, 'Show Me the Incentive, and I’ll Show You the Outcome: Mapping the Forces Shaping Knowledge Creation and Dissemination,' will explore how policies, funding mechanisms, institutional structures, and evolving publishing models impact the production and dissemination of knowledge within scholarly communication. Attendees will examine how researchers, funders, institutions, and governments respond to these forces. Sessions will address open access, publishing workflows, research credibility, and strategies the publishing industry can adopt to influence systemic change.
