In this new era, innovative technical developments are drafting a blueprint for optimizing the way users create, access and use data and information more profoundly than ever before. In addition, new mandates and policies are being implemented on a global basis for open access to research outputs while, simultaneously, alternative methods for peer review and measuring impact are being implemented. The NFAIS 2017 Annual Conference will build on the ideas of re-engineering and evolving the scholarly record - and its impact on scholarly communication - in the digital age.
