We live in a world where both the publication process and the overall publishing environment are affected by constant change. Increasingly, project management techniques are being used by publishers in order to handle change effectively. For example, moving a journal (or group of journals) from one typesetter to another, or planning a marketing campaign with complex time-critical interdependencies are examples that will be familiar to those working in publishing. In both of these cases and many others, project management techniques can be employed to ensure a successful outcome. The course will demonstrate, through the use of case studies, how to apply effective project management techniques within publishing.
