The 2020 International Open Access Week – Taking action to build structural equity

The 2020 International Open Access Week will be held, on October 19-25, 2020, to encourage organisers to host discussions and take action around 2020’s theme whenever is most suitable during the year and to adapt the theme and activities to their local context. International Open Access Week is an important opportunity to catalyse new conversations, create connections across and between communities that can facilitate the co-design, and advance progress to build more equitable foundations for opening knowledge.

STM Frankfurt Online Conference

The conference will be held in October 6-8, 2020, through online. The conference as a satellite session will involve discussions on open science and publishing in a pandemic; minding the gap: advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within academic publishing; and COVID-19: publishing in a pandemic. Session topics currently being discussed are: diversity and inclusion; impact of COVID-19 on the workplace; Research4Life and the sustainable development goals; and open science, research data, STM tech trends.

The iPRES 2020, 17th International Conference on Digital Preservation

The iPRES 2020, 17th International Conference on Digital Preservation, will be held in September 21-24, 2020, Beijing, China. The International Conference on Digital Preservation, or iPres Conference, is the premier conference series on digital preservation. Since 2004 there have been annual iPRES conferences around the globe to share their recent research, development projects, implementations, practical experiences, and to enhance collaborations within the field and across the related domains.

Webinar – How to succeed with content marketing

The webinar, on how to succeed with content marketing, will show how to succeed in content marketing and communication campaigns to increase brand awareness, develop author services, increase usage and submissions levels. All the tools needed to empower a wider audience to understand the latest research will be provided. The webinar will help create evidence-based digital stories that attract wider audiences to research and innovation.

KDD 2020

The Association for Computing Machinery’s Special Interest Group on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (ACM SIGKDD) will hold its flagship annual conference, KDD 2020, virtually from August 23-27. The KDD conference series, started in 1989, is the world’s oldest and largest data mining conference, and is the venue where concepts such as big data, data science, predictive analytics and crowdsourcing were first introduced. Continuing this tradition, KDD 2020 will showcase leading-edge research papers in data science, data mining, knowledge discovery, large-scale data analytics and big data.

SSP 42nd Annual Meeting

Society for Scholarly Publishing’s (SSP) 2020 host city of Boston inspired the concept of “revolution” in this year’s theme, and to explore a broad range of interpretations of this concept as they apply to the community.
