The Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP) kicks off its 2018 webinar series with an in-depth look at the confusion surrounding current sharing policies and the challenges facing authors, libraries, and publishers alike.
The webinar 'Sharing Policies: IRs, Author's Manuscript vs. PrePrint vs. Version of Record,' is scheduled for February 13 at 11 am to noon. The webinar will clarify current policies and encourage dialogue about how the scholarly publishing community can work together to address these ambiguities.
Jason Pointe, publishing director, IARS, will moderate the discussion about establishing a standard vocabulary for talking about versions, clarifying where versions can be posted and when, and ensuring that publishers understand what an IR is and how it fits into sharing practices. Speakers will include Kenny Whitebloom, Digital Scholarly Publishing Librarian, Penn Libraries; and Andrew Wible, Senior Manager, Rights and Partnerships, Wolters Kluwer.
Registration for the event is still open with a discount available for SSP members.
