53 new libraries adopt OCLC’s WorldShare Management Services platform -

OCLC’s WorldShare Management Services (WMS) platform continues to grow globally, with 53 new libraries joining over the past year. These institutions span academic libraries, special libraries, consortia, and legislative bodies across North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. WMS, the first cloud-based library services platform, is built on WorldCat, the world’s most comprehensive network of library data.

Designed to simplify operations and increase impact, WMS provides an integrated approach to managing electronic and physical resources. It supports user-centered experiences, real-time collaboration, and data-driven decision-making. With access to hundreds of millions of bibliographic records, libraries using WMS can reduce duplication, streamline workflows, and reallocate resources to community-facing services.

Libraries using WMS benefit from:

• Unified discovery and access,

• Shared infrastructure,

• Automated workflows, and

• Collaborative resource sharing via the OCLC global network.

The platform’s expansion underscores growing recognition of the benefits of cloud-based, cooperative library management. Participating libraries are now leveraging WMS to improve service delivery, integrate systems, and extend the reach and discoverability of their collections.

OCLC will showcase WMS at Booth #1147 during the ALA Annual Conference in Philadelphia. Their website has a detailed event schedule.
